Annual Scholarship Offerings
Our Sixth Grade Hope Award is our $500 Scholarship contest for 6th graders
in the Long Prairie Grey Eagle School District.
The contest is designed
to inspire sixth graders to dream about their futures and to express themselves in the form of a written essay, and later
a public speaking assignment.
We award a 1st, 2nd and
3rd place prize based on originality, content, quality, and speaking ability. The winners of the contest also
get to read their essay live on KEYL radio.
Our Gumption Scholarship is a $4000 Scholarship
awarded to a LPGE school district graduating senior who demonstrates true Gumption. Grades are important, but we are
looking for more than good grades. We are looking for a can-do spirit and proven ability to overcome
obstacles. We ask students to provide insight into their personal, academic, athletic, creative and community
experiences to determine who is most likely to persevere in the face of a set-back, and find a way to succeed. We interview
the top candidates in order to choose a final scholarship winner.
